How does the 100% phase-unbalanced output save money on a commercial electricity bill?

Eliminates single-phase grid purchases during asymmetric machine runs. In many commercial tariff structures, billing penalizes peak instantaneous draw. If your workshop draws 8 kW on L1 and only 1 kW on L2 and L3, a conventional 20 kW inverter outputs ~3.3 kW per phase. Meaning you buy 4.7 kW from the grid on L1. The GW20K-ET pushes 8 kW directly onto L1 from solar/battery, keeping net utility import at zero and eliminating peak demand charges.

What is the maximum AC current per phase on this model, and what breaker is required?

Yes. A GoodWe GM330 meter paired with 3 external 5 A split-core CTs.
