Product questions

What does one GW125/261-ESA-LCN-G10 cabinet contain?

One cabinet holds the 125 kW power conversion system (PCS), five battery packs of 52.25 kWh each (261.25 kWh), the local control module for energy management, the liquid-cooling unit, a dehumidifier, the aerosol fire-extinguishing device with smoke and temperature detectors, and the AC and DC circuit breakers. Delivered with it are four expansion bolts, the Wi-Fi antenna, five MSD switches, cable terminals and the documentation. The AC cable, the protective earth conductor, the upstream circuit breaker, the meter with current transformers and a SEC3000C controller are not part of the cabinet.

How is the cabinet connected to the grid?

The cabinet is connected on the AC side to a 400 V three-phase supply (3L / N / PE). TN-S, TN-C, TN-C-S and TT systems are supported; an IT system needs an external isolation transformer. Plan a dedicated upstream circuit breaker for each cabinet (recommended rating 250 A) with no other loads on it. In TT systems a residual-current device is required; 100 mA at the upstream breaker is recommended. The cables enter the cabinet from below.

Which VDE grid-connection certificates are available?

Two documents are available as downloads on this page: the certificate of conformity for VDE-AR-N 4105:2018-11 (TÜV Rheinland, issued 20 May 2025) and the unit certificate for VDE-AR-N 4110, 4120 and 4130 (SGS, No. 250008RECO10-CER, valid until 12 December 2030). The VDE-AR-N 4105 certificate notes that above 30 kVA the integrated interface switch has to work together with a central grid and plant protection (NA-Schutz). The unit certificate notes that the cabinet has no test terminal block; one is fitted separately where required.

What is needed for power limiting at the grid connection point and for several cabinets?

For power limiting at the grid connection point, a meter with current transformers is installed there: a GM330 smart meter with CTs of ratio nA/5A, or, where the site cannot be switched off, a DTSD1352 secondary meter with secondary CTs fitted on the existing primary CTs. Several cabinets are run by a SEC3000C controller over LAN: up to 20 cabinets in a daisy-chain connection and up to 15 in a star connection, together with grid-tied PV inverters. A third-party energy management system is connected over LAN or RS485; it then sets the number of cabinets. The cabinet's communication protocols are Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU. Cabinets in one system should be the same model.

Can the cabinet supply the site when the grid fails?

Not on its own. Switching between grid-connected and off-grid operation needs a GoodWe STS switching cabinet, which is a separate device and not part of this article. The cabinet may stand at most 45 m from the STS when the two communicate directly, and the state-of-charge range is set to 10% to 90% for this mode. With an uninterruptible power supply between the STS and the SEC3000C, the system can be black-started remotely.

What does the site need for delivery and installation?

The cabinet measures 1050 × 2250 × 1400 mm (W × H × D) and weighs 2580 kg. It is moved by crane with lifting slings rated at 5 t or more each, or by a forklift with a load capacity of 5 t or more, and stands on a level, load-bearing foundation of concrete or another non-combustible material with a cable entry from below. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor installation (IP54) at -25 to +55 °C and up to 4000 m altitude (the datasheet notes derating at 2000 m). Noise emission is up to 70 dB: the cabinet is not meant for noise-sensitive areas such as housing, offices and schools, and where it has to stand in one, it is placed at least 40 m away from it. For sites within 5 km of the sea, the warranty terms set limits that depend on the corrosion class of the enclosure (C4 as standard, C5 optional); such sites are agreed before the order. Installation has to be completed within six months of the manufacturing date.

What warranty applies to the cabinet?

The GoodWe limited warranty for Europe applies: 5 years on the electronics hardware and the enclosure; 2 years on the liquid-cooling unit, the fire suppression system and the lock cylinder, or 5 years when the system is connected to SEMS+. The performance warranty covers the battery cells for 10 years: 70% of the usable energy of 261.25 kWh or 6000 full charge cycles, whichever comes first. The warranty starts with the first installation or six months after the production date, whichever is earlier. The terms cover up to two full cycles per day and operation with GoodWe inverters; inverters of other brands are checked for compatibility beforehand. The full terms are in the warranty document on this page.
