More product details

Adding batteries to an existing commercial solar plant by replacing inverters requires costly DC rewiring, scaffolding, and system downtime. The GW50K07-BTC connects straight to the main AC busbar, capturing surplus solar from the AC grid.

  • Connects directly to the facility's 400 V AC distribution panel beside existing string inverters of any manufacturer.
  • Measures facility grid import/export in real time via the GoodWe GM330 smart meter and external split-core CTs.
  • Automatically schedules charging during solar overproduction peaks and off-peak utility tariff windows.

Product questions

Does the GW50K07-BTC have any DC solar panel inputs?

No. It is a pure AC-coupled battery inverter. The GW50K07-BTC has zero MPPT or solar PV inputs. It is dedicated entirely to charging and discharging high-voltage battery storage from the facility's 400 V AC grid. If you need solar PV string inputs on the same inverter, select the GW50K07-ETC or GW50K-ET-10.

How does the inverter know when to charge from existing solar inverters?

Real-time telemetry from the GoodWe GM330 smart meter and CTs. The system measures total facility power at the main utility grid connection point using a GoodWe GM330 three-phase meter and external 5 A split-core CTs. When existing solar inverters generate more power than the facility consumes, the BTC inverter immediately absorbs the excess AC power to charge the battery bank.
