Both. The EK90 HS5 is an all-in-one system, hybrid inverter plus LiFePO4 battery plus energy management in one modular blind-mate stack, offered as a single-phase line (up to about 10 kW) and a three-phase line.

For a customer with an existing single-phase SAJ install, verify the phase configuration and metering before ordering the three-phase unit.

The HS5 battery is fully modular: up to 6 stackable EK90 BU5 modules per system, scaling from 6 kWh to 54 kWh usable.

  • Module sizes: 6 / 7 / 9 kWh (LiFePO4, 100% depth of discharge, 314 Ah cells, high-voltage 600-900 V string, CAN comms)

The HS5 is designed around a bidirectional DC EV-charging module SAJ positions as an "EV-Home-Grid bridge" enabling V2H (vehicle-to-home) and V2G (vehicle-to-grid).

  • Planning caveat: SAJ's own EU datasheet explicitly flags this EV-DC V2H/V2G function as "currently under development and coming soon"; it is a roadmap capability, not a shipping, rated feature at launch, and no charging-power (kW) figure is published in the datasheet
  • Guidance: do not quote a specific EV-charging output for the HS5 yet; if a project depends on bidirectional DC EV charging, confirm the exact availability date, the module part number and its power rating with SAJ before committing, request a quote

Operation & warranty 2

Yes. A 63 A bypass is built in (per phase), so no separate backup box or retrofit is required to back up the whole house. On the 10 kW three-phase model (EK90 HS5-10KT3-X), backup (EPS) output is 10,000 VA continuous with a 20,000 VA / 10 s peak for motor and compressor start-up, and it supports unbalanced single-phase loads up to 5,000 W (the three-phase system tolerates up to 50% of rated power on one phase). Transfer time on grid loss is <=10 ms, fast enough to ride through outages for fridges, heat pumps and IT gear. The bypass current is configurable in the elekeeper app.

Warranty

  • SAJ states a 15-year warranty on the HS5, built on automotive-grade 314 Ah LFP cells rated at 10,000 cycles on the product page
  • SAJ's three-phase EU datasheet rates the cell up to 12,000 cycles under lab conditions (0.2C, 25 C, 60% SOH)
  • Exact capacity-retention and energy-throughput terms follow SAJ's published warranty policy, so request the warranty document for the precise figures you need to quote
