EcoFlow PowerOcean EF BD-5.1-S1 is the 5.1 kWh LFP battery pack of the PowerOcean residential system.

  • 3 kW to 6 kW single-phase (EF HD-P1) and 6 kW to 12 kW three-phase (EF HD-P3) inverters cover residential through small-commercial loads on the same PowerOcean platform.
  • Battery capacity builds in 5.1 kWh EF BD-5.1-S1 packs: up to 15.3 kWh on a single HD-P1 inverter (cascadable to about 45 kWh across three HD-P1 units), or up to 45.9 kWh directly on a single HD-P3 three-phase inverter.
  • IP65-rated inverters and battery stacks are specified for -20 to 50 degrees C, so they can sit outdoors or in an unheated plant room.
  • Built-in RS485, CAN, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 4G give direct EcoFlow app monitoring without extra gateway hardware.

Capacity builds in 5.1 kWh steps of the EF BD-5.1-S1, up to three packs per stack.

  • Stack table: 1 / 2 / 3 packs give 5.1 / 10.2 / 15.3 kWh nominal and 4.8 / 9.7 / 14.5 kWh usable at 95% depth of discharge.
  • Single-phase: the HD-P1 inverters (3 to 6 kW) take up to 15.3 kWh each, cascadable to about 45 kWh across three HD-P1 units.
  • Three-phase: a single HD-P3 inverter (6 to 12 kW) takes up to 45.9 kWh, which is 9 packs (45.9 / 5.1, simple arithmetic).
  • Voltage class: 800 V nominal, 720 to 960 V operating window.

Every stack is built on dedicated EcoFlow structural hardware; the packs alone are not a complete stack.

  • Single-phase (HD-P1): one EF BD-B-S1 battery base per stack, whatever the pack count.
  • Three-phase (HD-P3): the same base plus one EF BD-JC-S1 junction box per stack; EcoFlow lists the junction box in every three-phase configuration.
  • Assembled size: with the base, a 1 / 2 / 3 pack stack measures 452 / 849 / 1245 mm high and weighs 59.2 / 114.7 / 170.2 kg on a 680 x 183 mm footprint.

EcoFlow rates each EF BD-5.1-S1 at 3300 W maximum output and 2500 W maximum charge input.

  • Sizing rule: a three-pack stack can source 3 x 3300 W = 9.9 kW (simple arithmetic), so match pack count to the charge and discharge power of the 3 to 12 kW PowerOcean inverter you pair it with.
  • Chemistry: LFP cells with 4.8 kWh usable per pack at 95% depth of discharge.
  • Monitoring: the PowerOcean platform carries RS485, CAN, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 4G for direct EcoFlow app monitoring without extra gateway hardware.

Yes. The pack is IP65-rated and specified for -20 to 50 C, so it can sit outdoors or in an unheated plant room.

  • Mounting: floor stand or wall mounting per EcoFlow's installation options.
  • Noise: cooling is by natural convection with noise emission of 35 dB or less.
  • Site limits: 0 to 100% relative humidity (condensing) and up to 3000 m altitude.
  • Handling: 55.5 kg per pack at 680 x 183 x 424 mm; plan a two-person lift per pack.
