Availability & compliance 2

Treat certification as open until confirmed, the current datasheet does not yet name the German standards.

  • The current CH3 EU datasheet is marked "Preliminary Version" and lists IEC 61727, IEC 62116, IEC 62109-1/-2 and EN 61000-6-2/-4
  • It does not yet name VDE-AR-N 4105 or VDE-AR-N 4110, which is what a German DSO will ask for on a 125 kW connection (typically the VDE-AR-N 4110 medium-voltage regime, depending on the connection point)
  • On the battery side, the CB3-L261's published safety features are its fire-suppression system (pack-level aerosols + cabinet-level aerosols + water sprinkler), IP55 enclosure and liquid cooling; an IEC 62619 listing is not shown on the current datasheet, so do not quote it
  • Request a quote and we confirm the current certificate set and unit certificates with SAJ for your specific grid-connection case

Design to the EU-version limits, the global and EU datasheets differ.

  • SAJ's global marketing headlines the CHS3 as the world's first 1500V PV / 400VAC hybrid inverter, and the global-version CH3 datasheet states 1500 V max. DC input with a 300-1500 V MPPT range
  • The EU-version CH3 datasheet (CH3-125K-T8-EU) specifies 1250 V max. DC input and a 300-1250 V MPPT window (rated 1050 V, start 400 V); SAJ's own EU material also promotes '1250V PV string inputs' with up to 18% BOS/cabling savings
  • For a German project, design strings to the EU-version limits and confirm the datasheet revision applicable to the delivered units at quote
  • Both versions are currently marked "Preliminary"

Configuration 3

Two building blocks make up the SAJ CHS3 C&I hybrid solution.

  • CH3-125K-T8 hybrid inverter: 125 kW, 3/N/PE 380/400 V, DC-coupled PV input up to 250 kWp, built-in EMS and STS
  • CB3-L261 battery cabinet: 261 kWh LFP, 314 Ah cells, 0.5P, liquid-cooled
  • Delivered as separate cabinets: inverter (1027 x 895 x 342 mm, 135 kg) and battery cabinet (1030 x 2300 x 1400 mm, ≤2400 kg)
  • Plan crane/forklift access and foundations for the battery cabinet

The system scales along three axes: duration, off-grid capacity, and on-grid capacity.

  • Duration: up to 4 CB3-L261 cabinets connect to one CH3 inverter, covering storage durations from 2 hours (261 kWh at 125 kW) to 8 hours
  • Off-grid capacity: up to 10 units can run in off-grid parallel with no external STS module, thanks to the integrated static transfer switch
  • On-grid capacity: up to 20 grid-connected units can be expanded in parallel over the 100 Mbps Ethernet backbone
  • SAJ's CB3 battery platform is promoted as scalable to 1.25 MW / 10.4 MWh at the top end of its configuration range

The integrated STS transfers loads to backup in ≤20 ms, and a diesel generator can be hybridized with the system.

  • SAJ promotes the ≤20 ms transfer as uninterrupted operation for production and IT loads
  • Backup output: full 125 kW with 1.1x continuous / 1.55x-for-1 s overload headroom for motor starting
  • Dedicated generator input (max. 125 kW on the EU version): in generator-storage hybrid mode, SAJ's AI optimizes genset start/stop and output against load and PV data, which SAJ quantifies as 20-30% lower fuel consumption by avoiding no-load runs and frequent restarts
  • Supported operating modes: grid-tied, off-grid, generator-storage hybrid and backup

Warranty

The CH3 EU datasheet states a 5/10-year warranty structure for the inverter (preliminary, confirm the split and any extension options in SAJ's warranty policy), and SAJ promotes a 10-year cell warranty on the CB3 battery platform with 95% DoD on the modular CB3 line.

O&M tooling
