GoodWe HCA GW7K-HCA (7 kW single-phase EV charger)

The single-phase 7 kW tier of GoodWe's second-generation wallbox family: same housing, SEMS+ integration, dynamic load control and authentication features, for single-phase supplies.

  • Charges from PV surplus within the GoodWe ecosystem — solar or quick grid top-up, mode set in the app
  • Dynamic load control protects the house connection; monitoring and scheduling in the same SEMS+ app as the inverter
  • 7,000 W at 230 V nominal (32 A); IP66 housing, wall- or pole-mount, -30 to +55 C, Type 2 plug
  • Compatible with all EV brands · German PV-wholesale stock · request a quote

PV-surplus and solar-boost modes route rooftop energy into the car; OCPP 1.6 keeps the backend open.

PV-surplus charging within the GoodWe ecosystem

The GW7K-HCA-20 is single-phase only (230 V/32 A), so it does not perform the three-phase/single-phase switching GoodWe markets as the G2 series' 'smart phase switching' feature — that applies to its GW11K-HCA-20 and GW22K-HCA-20 three-phase siblings.

On this model, charging still follows solar surplus or a quick grid top-up, with the mode set in the SEMS+ app and integrated with the PV system's inverter and battery.

Configuration 3

It works standalone as a normal AC wallbox and is compatible with all branded EVs.

The PV-specific value, charging from solar surplus, smart phase switching decisions, and one-app control of PV, battery and charging, comes from pairing it with a GoodWe inverter system through the SEMS+ platform. Standalone you still get scheduled charging, dynamic load control and authentication.

On the three-phase models, the charger can switch between three-phase and single-phase charging: when PV surplus drops below what three-phase charging requires, it continues on one phase instead of pausing or topping up from the grid, GoodWe promotes this as the G2 function that lets drivers maximize solar energy usage when charging.

This model is single-phase by design, so the feature applies to its 11/22 kW three-phase siblings.

  • GW7K-HCA-20: 7 kW, 230 V/32 A, for single-phase supplies
  • GW11K-HCA-20: 11 kW, 400 V/16 A, as the standard wallbox on a German three-phase connection
  • GW22K-HCA-20: 22 kW, 400 V/32 A, where the connection capacity and grid operator allow it

All three share the same compact 208 x 450 x 170 mm IP66 housing and feature set, so the choice is purely electrical.

Availability & compliance 1

No, VDE-AR-N 4105 / EN 50549 are grid-feed-in certificates for inverters; an AC wallbox consumes power and is not certified against them (the PV inverter it partners with is, see the ESA records).

  • HCA G2 provides: IEC Type 2 plug (IP55), an IP66 enclosure, an external emergency shutdown switch and Type III AC surge protection
  • RCD requirement: GoodWe’s HCA manual calls for a dedicated upstream Type A 30 mA RCD
  • Germany: the installer must register a wallbox with the grid operator, and the 22 kW class additionally needs DSO approval; clarify the registration path for your site at quote time

Operation & warranty 2

Yes, the HCA G2 supports multiple authentication methods and provides transparency on energy costs specifically for account splitting and reimbursement.

GoodWe markets this at drivers, employers and lease companies, which makes the charger usable for home-charging reimbursement scenarios.

GoodWe publishes a dedicated EV charger warranty for the EU on its official warranty page (separate from the inverter warranty).

The terms are per GoodWe’s EV-charger EU warranty policy, request the current document with your quote.
