Does this charger require an external Type B RCD in the electrical panel?
No. Built-in Type A + 6 mA DC leakage protection is standard. The GW7K-HCA integrates internal Type A residual current detection plus 6 mA DC fault protection, fully satisfying European standard IEC 62955. A standard, inexpensive Type A RCD in the main distribution box is all that is required, saving significant hardware costs.
What cable and breaker sizing are required for installation?
40 A single-phase MCB; minimum 6 mm² copper conductors. For a continuous 32 A load, install a 1-pole 40 A circuit breaker (Type B or C) paired with 3 × 6 mm² copper cable (or 10 mm² for cable runs over 25 meters).
