  • The battery side is promoted with self-heating and an internal fire-protection system; an IEC 62619 listing is not shown on this datasheet, so do not quote it
  • As a grid-connected storage system it is registered in the Marktstammdatenregister as usual; confirm the current certificate revision at quote

Configuration 4

The AS3 sits on the AC side, measuring the house and existing PV inverter via supplied CTs, so no DC-side rework is needed.

  • Measures via two supplied CTs: a required grid-side CT and an optional CT on the solar-inverter side, each with a 10 m cable
  • Charges the battery from surplus AC power. No DC-side rework, no restringing, existing PV inverter stays in place; SAJ's retrofit path for homes that already have solar
  • Phase: single-phase unit (L+N+PE, 220/230/240 V), match to a single-phase supply or one phase of a three-phase home, and verify metering topology on site
  • For unusual existing-inverter constellations, ask us to confirm compatibility with SAJ before ordering

One AS3 inverter supports 1 to 8 BU3-5.0 battery modules, arranged in stacks with a defined layout.

  • Modules: 1 to 8 BU3-5.0 (LiFePO4, pack-level DC/DC optimiser); SAJ quotes 5-40 kWh for the AS3 series
  • Per stack: up to 4 modules ground-mounted (3 per wall-mounted stack)
  • Beyond one stack, additional stacks connect through the BC3-TV battery junction box, with stacks placed within about 0.5 m of each other due to cable lengths
  • SAJ recommends expanding with same-configuration packs in parallel
  • Battery voltage window at the PCS: 380-500 V

It has a dedicated backup output for essential circuits, though no switchover time is published for this model.

  • Backup output: 6,000 W continuous with a 7,200 VA peak for 60 seconds, enough headroom for compressor and motor starts on essential circuits
  • Backup-load circuit is fed separately from the grid connection (backup and grid connectors are separate plug-in kits)
  • The EU datasheet does not publish a grid-to-backup switchover time for the AS3, so do not promise a UPS-grade millisecond figure; if seamless whole-home transfer is the requirement, look at the EK90 HS5 hybrid line instead

  • It is an optional package in the system configuration, name it in your RFQ if the project needs it

Operation & warranty 1

No extra dongle is needed, communication is built in, differing only by model suffix.

  • 'W' models ship with a built-in AIO3 communication module (Wi-Fi/Ethernet/Bluetooth)
  • 'G' models ship with a built-in 4G module and SIM slot for sites without usable home internet
  • Commissioning and monitoring run through the elekeeper App (One-Click Savings, One-Click Diagnosis, scheduling, energy trading)
  • Warranty: SAJ's AS3 documents refer to the SAJ warranty policy rather than publishing retention figures; request the warranty document with your quote and pass its exact terms to the end customer
