Why is it dangerous to cross-mate genuine Stäubli connectors with "MC4-compatible" clones?
Cross-mating different brands creates micro-air gaps and high resistance, causing terminal fires. Different manufacturers have different internal contact tolerances, pin diameters, and thermal expansion coefficients. Mixing Stäubli with third-party clones causes high electrical resistance (>2 mΩ) and thermal runaway, which is the #1 cause of rooftop solar fires. Both IEC 62548 and UL standards strictly forbid cross-mating brands.
