SAJ ATS1-S63-A (single-phase automatic transfer switch, 63 A)

SAJ ATS1-S63-A is the single-phase automatic transfer switch: 63 A, 50 ms changeover between grid supply and inverter backup.

  • 50 ms changeover, which is inside the window a fridge, a router and a heating pump ride through without restarting.
  • Three independent 63 A ports — grid in, inverter in, backup load out — so the backup circuit is separated in the switch rather than improvised in the consumer unit.
  • IP54 and -25 to +50 °C up to 3000 m, overvoltage category III, protection class I, to IEC/EN 61439.
  • Listed by SAJ against the H1, H2 and HS2 single-phase inverter families, and takes either a meter module or an eManager as the metering accessory.

50 ms, three ports

Grid, inverter and backup load each get their own 63 A port, and the changeover is 50 ms — inside what a fridge or a heating pump rides through.

Configuration 2

Phases, and nothing else that matters.

  • ATS1-S63-A (this one): single-phase — the ordinary German residential connection.
  • ATS1-T63-A: three-phase.
  • Identical otherwise: SAJ's datasheet gives both the same 520 x 518 x 142 mm enclosure, the same 15.8 kg, the same 63 A, the same IP54 and the same 50 ms changeover.

SAJ lists it against its single-phase storage families. The datasheet names the H1 and H2 S2 series, the H2 S3 series and the HS2 line. If your inverter is a three-phase unit, you want the T63 instead.

Put your inverter model on the enquiry and we will confirm the pairing against SAJ's configuration instructions before the quote goes out.

Operation & warranty 1

It is the gap between the grid dropping and the inverter carrying the backup circuit.

  • Rides through: fridges, freezers, routers, heating circulation pumps, lighting.
  • Does not ride through: anything needing a true no-break supply — a desktop without a UPS may still restart.
  • Not a UPS: this is a transfer switch. It selects a source; it does not hold the load up during the transfer.

Installation & wiring 1

A wall-mounted IP54 enclosure, 520 x 518 x 142 mm and 15.8 kg.

  • Temperature: -25 to +50 °C.
  • Altitude: up to 3000 m.
  • Electrical class: overvoltage category III, protection class I, to IEC/EN 61439.
  • Metering: takes a meter module or an eManager.

Availability & compliance 1

Half-pallet freight at 15.8 kg net, no dangerous-goods handling.

  • Warranty: two years, SAJ's own figure for this unit.
  • Documentation: the ATS1 datasheet we hold is SAJ's Spanish edition, which is the edition that carries both the single-phase and three-phase columns. The specification values on this page are translated from it; the source document is linked so you can check any row.
  • Lead time: confirmed after order.
